An ESA dog—short for Emotional Support Animal—is a dog that provides comfort, companionship, and emotional stability to someone dealing with a mental or emotional condition like anxiety, depression, PTSD, or panic disorders 🐾💛

🧠 What Makes a Dog an ESA?

  • It’s not about specialized training like service dogs receive.
  • Instead, the dog’s presence alone helps ease symptoms of a diagnosed emotional or psychological condition.

SERVICE PETS

SERVICE PETS

🐕  A service animal is a dog that has been individually trained to perform specific tasks that directly assist a person with a disability. These tasks must be related to the person’s condition—for example:

  • Guiding someone who is blind
  • Alerting someone who is deaf
  • Pulling a wheelchair
  • Detecting seizures or blood sugar changes
  • Interrupting panic attacks or disassociation
